Hey there, lovelies! Anybody who knows me, knows I can appreciate a great quote. My love for quotes actually started years ago, when I needed the precise words to convey on a birthday card. So, first I expressed the simple stuff, and when I wanted to go deep, I googled whatever sentiment I wanted and voila! Quotes and inspirational writings lift me up. Today I’m doing something new and sharing 10 inspirational quotes to uplift your soul!
Here goes:
“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, ‘Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?’ Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”. – Marianne Williamson
“I’m not opposed to aging – even though society is kinder on men than women when it comes to getting old; it comes to us all. Youth passes from everyone, so why deny it? I’m proud of my age. I’m proud that I’ve survived this planet for as long as I have, and should I end of withered, wrinkled and with a lifetime of wisdom, I’ll trade the few years of youth for the sophistication of a great mind…for however long it lasts.” – Unknown
You may write me down in history With your bitter, twisted lies, You may trod me in the very dirt But still, like dust, I’ll rise. Does my sassiness upset you? Why are you beset with gloom? ‘Cause I walk like I’ve got oil wells Pumping in my living room. Just like moons and like suns, With the certainty of tides, Just like hopes springing high, Still I’ll rise Did you want to see me broken? Bowed head and lowered eyes? Shoulders falling down like teardrops. Weakened by my soulful cries. Does my haughtiness offend you? Don’t you take it awful hard ‘Cause I laugh like I’ve got gold mines Diggin’ in my own back yard. You may shoot me with your words, You may cut me with your eyes, You may kill me with your hatefulness, But still, like air, I’ll rise. Does my sexiness upset you? Does it come as a surprise That I dance like I’ve got diamonds At the meeting of my thighs? Out of the huts of history’s shame I rise Up from a past that’s rooted in pain I rise I’m a black ocean, leaping and wide, Welling and swelling I bear in the tide. Leaving behind nights of terror and fear I rise Into a daybreak that’s wondrously clear I rise Bringing the gifts that my ancestors gave, I am the dream and the hope of the slave. I rise I rise I rise. – Maya Angelou
“You are never too old to set another goal or dream a new dream.” – CS Lewis
“How cool is it that the same God that created mountains and oceans and galaxies looked at you and thought the world needed one of you too.” – Unknown
“I think if I’ve learned anything about friendship, it’s to hang in, stay connected, fight for them, and let them fight for you. Don’t walk away, don’t be distracted, don’t be too busy or tired, don’t take them for granted. Friends are part of the glue that holds life and faith together. Powerful stuff.” ― Jon Katz
“You wanna fly, you got to give up the *&^% that weighs you down.” ― Toni Morrison
“Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that.” ― Martin Luther King Jr.,
“Behind every successful woman is a tribe of other successful women who have her back.” – Unknown
“Strength does not come from physical capacity. It comes from an indomitable will.” – Mahatma Gandhi
