Hello Stylistas! We’re still in the throes of summer, so let’s not count out the kimono! They are a wonderful cover-up to add extra flair without adding lots of layers.

Check out these ways to wear yours:

It’s all in the details: Kimonos are sometimes designed with embroidery, lace or other embellishments. These extras on your kimono can definitely spice up your little black dress or a pair of jeans and a tee shirt. Throw on a nice piece of statement jewelry and earrings and voila! You’re fabulous!

Long: Whether you’re tall or petite, a longer length kimono can add a “queening” type vibe to all of your outfits. Long kimonos are probably one of the few things that cover you from almost head to toe without overpowering your outfit or weighing you down.

Wear it with: If your kimono skims the floor, try pairing it with shorter hemlines like shorts, a mini dress, or skirt. Or evoke a bohemian feel by wearing a floor-length kimono and wide leg patterned pants or jeans.

Bold Prints: Don’t sleep on bold prints and colors. Be it floral or a geometric, a kimono in a bold pattern is the easiest way to achieve an easy casual style.

Until next time, love and light!
