Hey Stylistas! It’s my birthday! And you know what that means. Time to retrospect and take inventory of my life.
Here is a short list of how my life changed in year 5.6:
Menopause and my changing body forced me to switch my mindset and bad habits permanently…for the better.
I signed up for therapy to address my mental health.
I moved from metropolitan Los Angeles to the small unincorporated city of Ana Verde, just outside of Palmdale, 62 miles away. When the Hubbs and I settled in, I couldn’t believe that tumble weeds literally roam the streets and highways, that cactus plants supersede palms trees, and high winds and blinding dust storms are commonplace!
The Hubbs and I were blessed with a beautiful new home in the midst of the pandemic and have enough room for our blended brood of six to visit comfortably with spouses and grands in tow. (It would still be a little crowded, but everybody could fit)
I began a new job in academia after a series of experiences over 7 years that damaged my mental health. For the first time in years, I can now say I love my job.
The influencer business that pays me flourished in ways that baffled me, because if you looked at the tangible - - my metrics/reach just didn't match up with the provisions. This has been a true testament of the power of God. I am thankful beyond words.
When the time is right, I will share the big thing that is on the horizon for me. And I’m so excited about what the future holds!
All in all, I am so thankful for another rotation around the sun, and for the experiences both good and bad. I wake up every morning with gratitude for my breath and beating heart, for my family, sisters (girlfriends that are my family) and every blessing given. HELLO YEAR 5.7! LET'S GO!!!!!
