5 Ways to Influence for Change

Hey Stylistas!

People use the term “influencer” in this day and age, loosely.  Many think about women (or men) looking picture perfect, all while using their coercion skills to get you to purchase clothes, makeup, hotel stays, airline tickets and lots of other things that will pass away after you leave this life.

In our current state of being, many are looking to do something different – – like making a positive change in the world in which we live by giving back and helping to change the world, one day at a time.

5 Ways to Influence Others for Change

  1. Donate to a women’s shelter or organization that helps women who are homeless, survivors of domestic battery, drug abuse or who are getting back into the workforce after tough times. Organizations to consider: Women Helping Women, Downtown Women’s Center, Dress for Success.

  2. Speak to young women about how to show up in the world, i.e., call a youth organization and volunteer your time: Organizations to consider: Top Teens of America, or the YWCA. Get on their calendar to speak to young girls (and boys). (post COVID)

  3. Instead of selling your clothes for profit to businesses such as Poshmark or Thredup, give to organizations such as WHW, American Cancer Society Discovery Shops or Dress for Success.

  4. Volunteer to help style women in business attire as they get back into the workforce with organizations such as WHW and Dress for Success.

  5. Volunteer to work for or donate to a crisis hotline such as: National Suicide Prevention Lifeline or the National Sexual Assault Online Hotline.

I’d love to hear what you are doing to give back to your larger community. Please share!

Until next time, love and light!
