Red is my favorite color.

Let me tell you about my love affair with the color red.  It began many moons ago…

My bedroom as a teenager was decorated with beautiful red accents.  I remember it very well.  Our childhood home had just been renovated and now I had a brand new bedroom at the very back of the house. My mother allowed me to decorate my room as I pleased. My windows were adorned with red blinds and red/white eyelet window treatments. The double bed had a beautiful white comforter with a huge satin pillow shaped as big red lips smack dead in the middle. In the morning, as the sun hit the blinds, my room’s lighting had a soft red hue.

The list goes on.  I had a red high school prom dress, red first vehicle (Volkswagen Rabbit), red bridesmaids dresses.

Studies show that colors have a very significant effect on us both psychologically, and even physiologically! Certain colors can change our state of mind, or even affect our physical state. Is that crazy or what?

The crimson colored hue is the most eye-catching and exciting color in the entire spectrum. Red is bold and powerful. It demands attention. But did you know that the color red actually increases your heart rate?

Red is perfect for accent colors; be it your MAC Ruby Woo lipstick, leather coat, power suit, LRD (little red dress), calls to action, or anywhere you want to make your presence more palpable. Red says, CONFIDENCE.

So for your holiday celebrations, I hope you put on a little red!

Until next time, love and light!

Julie
